Interview with Professor Jacopo Buongiorno, Professor of Nuclear Engineering at MIT.
MIT Professor Jacopo Buongiorno led MIT's landmark study, The Future of Nuclear Energy in a Carbon-Constrained World, and has spent years researching how nuclear lowers the cost of a clean energy system. He was recently in Canberra meeting with politicians across the political aisle, and is currently teaching at UNSW. In this video, Nuclear for Australia Founder Will Shackel talks to Professor Buongiorno about why including nuclear in the mix makes the energy transition more affordable, how small modular reactors and microreactors could suit Australia, and what it would take for Australia to lift the ban.
