Nuclear for Australia Press Release Re. Nuclear Fear Campaign
June 20th 2024

Nuclear for Australia condemns the fear campaign on social media against nuclear power.

This new fear campaign undermines trust in nuclear science and prevents Australia from having a mature, adult debate about the role of nuclear power in our future.

Nuclear power is safe, nuclear waste isn't a prohibitive issue and nuclear does not make Koalas turn green, but instead preserves trees and contributes to a cleaner atmosphere that wildlife needs in order to thrive.

The ultimate litmus test as to whether a politician is serious about lowering emissions, lowering power bills and reducing the risk of blackouts is whether or not they are open to lifting the bans on nuclear power.

We call on the Labor party, select unions and "conservation groups" to cease their dystopian fear campaigns and engage with the facts and nuclear experts.
