What is nuclear power?

Nuclear power is a type of thermal power which uses nuclear reactions to create heat to spin a turbine creating electricity. Due to this process, many compare nuclear power reactors to giant kettles. There are two different types of nuclear reactions: fission which is where atoms split apart and fusion where atoms fuse together.  

Nuclear Fission

Nuclear fission is the splitting of atoms. 

Nuclear Fusion

Nuclear fusion is the combining together of atoms.
