Nuclear for Australia founder interviewed by Amanda Stoker after receiving letter response from the Prime Minister

Yesterday, our founder Will Shackel spoke with Former Queensland and now Sky Presenter Amanda Stoker on her new show Sunday with Stoker on Sky News Australia. The interview comes after Nuclear for Australia received a response from the Prime Minister’s Office to our letter.

You can watch Will's full interview with Amanda Stoker on Sky News here:

During the interview Will discussed the recent reply, responded to the cost and safety argument against Nuclear Energy and talked about the recent Compass Polling data which illustrated that a majority of Australians support Nuclear Energy.

He told Amanda "My question to the government is countries like the US, France and the UAE, they’ve proven that nuclear energy is suitable in those nations so why couldn’t it have the same positive results here in Australia?’"

In regards to cost he commented that "many experts have proven that it is a fallacy to suggest Nuclear Energy is the most expensive form of energy’ and that ‘it’s not a coincidence that Australia has some of the highest energy prices in the world".

Pointing out the irony of the government’s policy he made the joke that "even if Nuclear Energy is the most expensive form of power generation, we don’t ban Gucci handbags because they’re too expensive".
