Google announcement: 

2 days ago Google announced a partnership with Kairos Power to enable up to 500MW of 24/7 clean nuclear energy to be developed to power their AI revolution. The deal will see a small modular reactor finished by 2030, with more in the early 2030s.

Last night Amazon Web Services announced over $500 million USD for three projects to power their data centres.

  • An agreement with Dominon Energy to explore the development of an SMR

  • Leading contribution in a $500 million USD funding round for X-Energy

There is a serious risk that if Australian politicians fail to get over their ideological opposition to nuclear energy that Australia will fall behind in the technological revolution. We call for the bans on nuclear energy to be immediately lifted.
